Constitution and Bylaws

 

 

:: We are an AKC  Licensed Club

We are an AKC licensed club.  Our primary focus written in our Constitution:

(a) to encourage and promote quality in breeding of pure-bred Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and do everything possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection.

(b) to urge members and breeders to accept the standard of the breed as approved by the American Kennel Club as the only standard of excellence by which the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel shall be judged.

(c) to do all in its power to protect and advance the interests of the breed and to encourage sportsmanlike competition at dog shows, obedience and agility trials.

(d) to conduct sanctioned matches, specialty shows, obedience and agility trials under the rules and Regulations of the American Kennel Club.

 

 

Membership

 

There are three different types of memberships

(a) Regular Membership – open to persons 18 years or older who are residents of Greater San Diego County or not within another AKC Cavalier club’s territory, in good standing with the American Kennel Club and are interested in the betterment of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, with the right to vote and hold office.

(b) Associate Membership- Entitled to all club privileges except voting, holding office and breeder referral. For members interested in pet functions, who are not active in the club and/or residents outside of Greater San
Diego County. After one year of membership as an associate member in good standing, said member may apply for regular membership if desired, pursuant to procedure in Article I, Section III. Only associate members residing within Greater San Diego County or not within another AKC Cavalier club’s territory will be considered for regular membership. If said member
wishes to remain an associate member after the one year requirement, they may do so without any action on their part.

(b) Junior Membership - open to minors under 18 years of age, entitled to all club privileges except voting, holding office, or breeder referral. After one year of membership as a junior member in good standing, said member may apply for associate membership provided they have reached the age of 18
years old, pursuant to procedure in Article I, Section III. All junior members must have a parent or legal guardian as a member in good standing with the CKCSCGSD and the American Kennel Club.

(a) Sponsors – All applicants must be sponsored by two (2) regular members in good standing, neither from the same household nor from the household of the applicant. Please refer to the Constitution and Bylaws for complete details

Dues paid by new members, voted and approved in November, will not need to pay additional dues until the following calendar year.

Past Speakers

Our newsletter "Puppy Prints" is published six times a year and sent to all members.  "Puppy Prints" contains club news, informative messages, health issues, club events, show news, meeting minutes and other assorted information.
